Our City offers three beautiful park areas with several attractions for both adults and children to enjoy. Some feature covered picnic areas, shade trees, walking trails and even a zoo. Plan your next outing at one of our parks. Take a look!
DEXTER PARK & SAFARI RUN
ABOUT DEXTER PARK
Dexter Park offers a unique playground called “Safari Run” that provides new play opportunities for the children of Clay Center and the surrounding communities, regardless of age or ability. Features include:
- Toddler and child play areas
- ADA compliant swing seats
- Multiple covered picnic areas
- Band shelter
LEAVE A LASTING MEMORY WITH A PICKET AT DEXTER PARK
Purchase a fence picket and honor or remember that special person, promote your business or just to recognize your support for the park. We are currently accepting orders. Picket orders will be placed 3 times a year: March, July, and October. Order forms can be returned to City Hall prior to the end of these 3 months. If you have any questions, please let us know.

HUNTRESS PARK
ABOUT HUNTRESS PARK
Huntress Park is tucked in the middle of Clay Center just off of HWY 24 and is the home of the Clay Center Swimming Pool. Visitors can also enjoy a 9-hole disc golf course. Features include:
- Child play areas
- Aquatic Park just steps away
- Multiple covered picnic areas

UTILITY PARK & ZOO
ABOUT THE UTILITY PARK
The Utility Park is a favorite of many, as it is situated right next to our little zoo, which has been completely renovated. The Utility Park is taken care of by the City of Clay Center’s Public Utilities Department. Features include:
- Large shaded playground
- Bridges and fountains
- Gazebos
- Picnic areas
- Walking trail
- Small free zoo
